Day 5: First Full Day in Batipa

i awoke up to the calls of howling monkeys 🐵 and the soft hues of the sunrise. taking a moment of quiet reflection, i mentally prepared for the long day that lay ahead.

today, i had the incredible opportunity to visit the Ngäble Bugle community. immersing myself in their culture, i was honored to assist Señor Armando with an amazing project, one he entrusted us with, sharing his invaluable knowledge. the day was filled with exploration, learning, and meaningful connections. I felt truly fortunate to be part of a project where the community graciously opened their doors and hearts to us—a deeply grateful moment.

 as evening approached, the sky darkened, foreshadowing the storm. thunder rumbled and flashes of lightning danced across the horizon. Just as we were leaving the community, it started to pour. the drive back to the research station took about 1 hour and 30minutes. 

i can’t wait to see what tomorrow has in store…
