Day 10: Grinding day
ughhhh.. i did not want to wake up this morning….. i was so sore from all the exploration and ecological research that happened at the golf de chiriqui. i dragged myself out of bed this morning it was around 6:45 am as i heard the sound of people coming in and out of the sleeping area. i had breakfast made by the glorias ham and some potatoes, this hit the spot early in the morning. i was eating so slow to try and make time so i wouldn’t start my long day ahead. before i knew it was heading up to the working meeting area where i sat all day until now 11:30pm!! i organized the botanical book alphabetically did my interview with carwash and also started my powerpoint presentation to wrap up our intercambio research experience in panama.
tonight was a night to remember! it was our cultural exchange night memories were different cultures exchanged traditional dances. it was something great. i got a little emotional and teary eyes to see everyone share and embrace their traditions. the environment i have been apart of this last two weeks really opened up my perspective on life. thus motivated me to continue to push through adversity and challenges, we the people will always push and fight to be the change in our communities.
this experience has taught me to fight for social justice, as I reflect im inspire by the community despite everything they face as a community they are all united as one..will forever be grateful for this experience. i feel blessed to have had such an amazing opportunity to work with Ngöbe Bugle community, they welcomed us and opened up their doors to their homes. it was an AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!!!!
we ended the night by doing a traditional dances and learning from one another. it was such an amazing opportunity to be able to share with everyone. i will forever cherish this moment. thank you all for following along on my two weeks journey in panama.
