Day 8: Night Excursion

since we will no longer be able to go back to the co;marca due to the protest and state of the current situations. we will be at the station working long days no more field day starting today and for the rest of the week. we will be working so hard at the station try and get our poster and or powerpoints done for the final day.

      grinding hard to complete this presentation. 

today i didn’t do much beside work like i mention, with that being said at night I took the opportunity to join dr.alberto and his team on a night excursion. Sara, myself, Juan and the Ngöbe experts were on this night excursion🥾. this was the highlight of today we got ready and left the station around 7:30pm it was already dark out, you would think it would be fresh out since it was night already but oH boyyyy it was not. i did not expect the heat to be intense but it was. i was able to see many different insects and a scorpion it was a adventures night to say the least. we hiked hills and visited different plantations total of 4 areas to collect data. as we were on our second location finishing data collection were heading back to the car where dr.alberto and the other were waiting for us. you wouldn’t believe what i am about to say.......

we ran into a snake los encontramos una boa. we knew that dr.alberto was looking forward to seeing a boa during our time here that he tried to keep the snake under out sight so he could make it and see it…. he rushed to us after we called him and quickly attempted to pick it up… Oh boyyy🫢 was I crapping myself i was scared at the fact that he just had picked it up and holding it like nothing.......

i was totally not expecting him to carry it. we even had a whole photoshoot with the boa because dr.alberto wanted to capture the beauty of the snake 🐍and its skin as it was a rainbow reflective color. it was so beautiful to have witness this tonight..

this wraps my night excursion.. 

            excited to see what mysterious thing happens tomorrow.
