Day 6: Day in la comarca

today I woke up early once again for the 6th day in a row. we had a group meeting at 6:30am with all the students ☕️🌅  before breakfast. i later got ready for our trip back to the comarca, at this time my energy was slowing fading. i was day dreaming of a 32oz cream redbull 🥤from back home…. ughhhh craving one so badd. ahhH send help!!! on our way to the comarca.

i took a nap the whole car ride about 1 hour nap by the time we arrived i felt a little more energized ready to tackle down the full day ahead of me.. we arrived and don armando was ready to get to work! i am inspired to see his drive to be able to work with us and share his knowledge so that this book can be passed on to the younger generation to conserve the traditions of using traditional plants within his community to bring health to the community. today was not as long as yesterday we documented about 8 different plants in a shorter time frame compared to yesterday.

noon:⏰

we had lunch with don armandro and a few of the community members. it was nice just being able to connect and eat with the community and bound. after we finished lunch we chilled for about an hour before we started interviews. the interviews were so touching and heart warming to hear the stories of the community, truly an eye opening experience. after we finished we packed and got ready to head back to batipa as we had an hour drive back.. on our way back we saw protesters and it breaks my heart to see everything going on in panama but inspired to see how brave everyone is.

later that night me and sara went down to the dock to fish with jr. i was my first time fishing in a new county and it was a great experience… oh boy fishing is waiting game I was out for about an hour and caught nothing….. but was not expecting to catch anything but an experience. celestino also joined us and oh boy was a fun time, we had this flashlight that we called “ la ponderosa” it was so bright that he using it to flash all the boats in the area from far. it far that it led the dorm from the dock…. oh boy it was for sure the
“ponderosa” lighting up everything from a far.... celestino shared stories about the brujos y la llorona to try and spicy up the nigh but sara was not having it. she was scared for her life Ahh honey bunches was literally freaking out…

this is all for today. let see what mañana has in store..
