Day 4: Arrival at Batipa 🌿

Today began bright and early at 7 AM as I joined a few staff and fellow students for breakfast, fueling up for the exciting day ahead. After our meal we packed our bags and headed to a local market to pick up some snacks and explore el Centro de David. On our way back from the market, we stumbled upon a lively parade—the "Desfile del Payaso"—adding a festive surprise to our morning!!!

By 10 AM, we checked out of our hotel and started on our journey to Batipa, the research station that would become our new home. The drive from David to Chiriquí was nothing short of breathtaking. About an hour later, we arrived at the station, eager to begin this new chapter.

Unloading our luggage, we were greeted by the playful antics of a couple of curious monkeys 🐒!! The view from our dorms was absolutely mesmerizing, by the abundance of mango trees. We started to devour the juicy mangoes, with a dash of Tajín for that perfect twist.

The day wrapped up with a delightful meal prepared by the incredible cooks, Las Glorias—truly a culinary treat! As night fell, I ventured out with hopes of catching a fish, but did not catch anything.

Tomorrow, I plan to rise at the crack of dawn, to see the amazing sunset. The adventures continue—stay tuned for what tomorrow holds! 🌅☕
